Dr. Soriono has followed my mother for several years for her COPD and has been wonderful in ensuring her care is appropriate for her. He is a very warm and caring person who spends time with you and answers any questions that come up. He is also very responsive when needed. I cannot say enough good things about him!

I first had the pleasure of meeting Dr Rodner over 15 years ago when he operated on my daughters hand. When I myself needed treatment for hand issues due to arthritis there was no question who I would contact. My treatment with Dr Rodner continues and I believe my quality of life has improved because of him. His patience, kind manner and confidence in what he does is why I continue my treatment with him and his awesome team even after relocating to New Hampshire. Thank you Dr Rodner and team for all you do for me. I appreciate you all for restoring my quality of daily life!

When you walk away from your doctor after shoulder replacement surgery and all you could say is, “I love my surgeon.” That should say it all! Dr. Dwyer is an excellent surgeon, communicator and a very caring human being. He listens to your concerns and addresses them, ensuring you understanding. He is attentive during the entire surgical process – pre-op and post-op. There are so many ways to thank him it’s hard narrow them down. But suffice it to say: he’s a great doctor and surgeon. I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needed shoulder replacement surgery. My P. S. would be to acknowledge the surgical department staff—pre-op and post-op. My encounters with these professionals was always positive. I never felt like my phone call, or email, would get lost in a queue. Any communication from me was always responded to in a timely manner. So, thank them for me. I wish there were two more submissions because I would also acknowledge the care that I’ve received from my PCP, Dr. Lavern Wright, and Dr. Rodney Craig my hand surgeon. I am so happy with my care at UCONN, that I now have all of my doctors there. (I am at that age where I have too many doctors, but at least they’re all in one place!)

I recently decided to consolidate all of my healthcare under one roof, so to speak, and I chose UCONN Health. I chose Dr. Lindelof randomly as my urologist and had my first appointment with her. She was interested in my past health record as well as my recent problems. She pursued avenues of medication and treatment that my previous urologist did not even mention. I have seen some early positive results and am hopeful that, under Dr. Lindelof's care, I may be pain-free. I have never had a physician spend the time and authentically be in the present moment with me as Dr. Lindelof has. Most importantly, she is very approachable and easy to ask questions to. Her explanations are understandable and thorough. I very much look forward to her care in the future.

For Dr. Waddington I first encountered Dr. Waddington during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. After navigating a healthcare system that too often left me feeling unseen — providers who lacked the necessary knowledge, or simply did not offer the compassionate engagement that is so essential to true care — she was different from the very beginning. Dr. Waddington was the first doctor to truly see me. To look beyond the surface, understand my pain and my condition, and commit to working with me over time. Because of her dedication, I have been able to reclaim my quality of life and, more than that, reclaim my joy. The ways she has helped me and my family are difficult to capture in words. I do not say lightly that she has saved my life — and by extension, has profoundly shaped the wellbeing of my entire family. As I prepare to leave Connecticut, I carry her with me. She will always represent the highest standard of what healthcare can and should be — knowledgeable, engaged, and deeply caring. Dr. Waddington, thank you. You will not be forgotten.

I’ve visited many doctors over my 65 years. In the last decade or so, most seem to concentrate on their computer/laptop while (sort of) listening to me. Dr. McCauley immediately struck me as different. She looked at me as we spoke. She asked clarifying questions if my initial description left out necessary details. What’s more, she had clearly read my medical history prior to my visit as she’d mention things I hadn’t told her yet. Beyond that first impression, she made ALL the necessary referrals and informed me as such while she did it. (More on that later) It was as nice as a doctor’s appointment could be! Speaking of the referrals—the first referral called to set up an appointment before we reached the elevator when leaving Dr. McCauley’s office! I was about to silence the call; thinking is was spam. All the other referrals followed suit quite promptly too. All this remains my first impression of UCONN Health. Well done, folks!

As someone who has had extensive fearful experiences with physicians in early childhood that has remained with me even into adulthood, I just want to recognize Dr. Liang (her staff also, once I can get their names one by one) specifically here for being steadfast, efficient, thorough and compassionate in her care of my recent need for a gallbladder removal. She was not only excellent in explaining everything from day one, but she also took the time to get to know and connect with me and my husband at a personable level, sharing lighthearted stories in pre-op about shared hobbies. She has a gentle yet steady hand, a friendly demeanor, and made me want to recommend UCONN Health to ANYONE needing general surgical needs.

I wanted to recognize Dr. Arab who was on-call and listened and advised me thoroughly in the middle of the night, post surgery when I was in a lot of discomfort… He was very reassuring, helpful and quick with his assistance!

With the utmost respect and gratitude, this message goes out to a host of folks who acted with such urgency in the moment, it still hasn't hit me as to how serious my condition was that day. Thank you Dr. Van Meter for understanding the urgency of that moment after I came into the ED on July 11. It was your quick actions and decision making along with your colleagues present in the room that likely created a window for me that definitely saved my life. From the ED attendant who moved me quickly to an EKG test, to the EKG operators that signaled the immediacy via cellphone to the ED staff, to Dr. Van Meter and her staff, and to Dr. Corcoran who unceremoniously had his workout interrupted and came in off the street to literally save my life - it is my greatest privilege to always remember your faces and names. I thank you all sincerely and my family especially thanks you all for your decisive actions and professionalism in a most pivotal moment. The very fact that this is what you do everyday is a testament to your respective backgrounds, education and upbringing in making life a better place and helping those in need. I wish I had a magic wand to give each of you something in return that equals what you mean to me and what you actually do in the world, and it is with many tears in this moment that I acknowledge that these are only words in return. To Danielle and Justin, to Nana, to Giorhonda, and Randy and Beck - thank you all sincerely for watching over me during the days/nights. I could never have been in better care or felt like I had been blessed with a second chance, thanks to all of you from the bottom to the top of my healing heart. Thank you all.

I've been a patient of Dr. Corcoran for many years. In my adult years, he's one of three doctors I've held in the highest esteem. When it comes to my heart, I trust him completely. Totally committed to his patients. God bless him!

In a matter of 4 weeks I was transported by ambulance (they refused to transport to UCONN) to 2 hospital emergency rooms, saw my cardiologist and my PCP 3 times. I had fallen unconscious 3 times during the night BP 80/60, fever, chills, confusion, short of breath, not eating, sleeping 18+ hours per day. We have have always had wonderful experience with my husbands doctors at UCONN. My husband brought me to UCONN Emergency Room (8/5) where I was treated by Dr. Barr. He listened, cared and made me feel comfortable. Within 11 hours he took a large amount of blood test, x-rays, Antibiotic, IV fluid, and CAT Scans. On 8/9 I received a call from UCONN stating that the last culture had come in and was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis from a tick bite and given 7 days of doxycycline. I am 73 yrs. old and could have died if not for Dr. Barr. This was all due to Dr. Barr's persistence and dedication to medicine. I will forever remember this incredible man and brilliant doctor. Dr. Barr's dedication and warmth go far beyond the call of duty. UCONN is so lucky to have him as doctor. Eternally grateful to Dr. Barr, Emergency Room Staff & UCONN Farmington.

Norreen is an angel! She was my nurse on discharge day and really supported me with breastfeeding! She paused, took her time, and showed me how to best hold and support my baby so that she could feed well with a good latch. This was the boost of confidence I needed as I was getting ready to head home.

I receive infusions every eight weeks. Each and every time I am treated with respect, care and courtesy and thoroughly asked questions about my health. I can’t express how fantastic the nurses are in the infusion center. They are the best. They communicate and help each other and truly are a team. Thank you and thank them from me. UConn is the place to be for health care.

I came to UConn with what initially appeared to be a routine case of appendicitis. Unfortunately, it turned out to be more complex and ultimately required an ileocecectomy. As a patient, unexpected complications bring confusion, anxiety, and even fear. In those moments of uncertainty, you hope for answers, clarity, and reassurance. Dr. Louisy was the rock in the storm. Not only did he perform an excellent job in the operating room, but he also went above and beyond during my recovery. Over the week following my surgery, he spent time with me in my hospital room, patiently and thoughtfully answering my many questions. At one point, he even drew a diagram on the whiteboard to help me better understand the procedure. I can only imagine how busy Dr. Louisy's days were, yet he still took the time to ensure I felt informed, supported, and cared for. That level of compassion and dedication made all the difference in the world. I am recovering well and am deeply grateful for the care he provided.

I needed an aortic valve replacement. Sarah was present and involved in every appointment leading up to the surgery, as well as in the hospital, post-surgery. She was always so knowledgeable, conversational and caring. She acted as a very important liason and voice for Drs. Siegenthaler and Dahal. Her team was incredible as well: Nicole, who was with me in the office visits, as well as in the operating room. The Hospital Nurses were amazing. So kind and caring. I really appreciate everything they did... Kellie (night nurse) Ayza (day nurse) I also wanted to recognize Dr's. Siegenthaler & Dahal. Incredible care from both of them. They also displayed a level of humanity which I hadn't experienced the first time I had my aortic valve replaced in 2009. I'll forever be grateful for their expertise and kindness. The team in the operating were also amazing. I don't recall all of their names, but everyone was so professional and caring. I felt like I mattered to them. I know they do this all day, but I was truly blown away by all of them.
